Park Circus Alumni organise free eye-camp

Don Bosco Alumni Park Circus Unit, both day and night school, organised a free eye camp in the school, Sunday, January 15, 2012. Some40 alumni were at hand to facilitate the smooth running of the camp.

Don Bosco, Liluah commences Platinum Jubilee celebrations

The yearlong platinum jubilee celebrations of the foundation of Don Bosco, Liluah began on December 08, 2011 with a solemn high Mass presided over by the Coadjutor Archbishop of Kolkata, Rt. Rev. Thomas D`Souza. The variety entertainment programme was attended by many parents and past pupils. Fr. Thomas Ellicherail, Provincial addressed the gathering. Notable among the guests was Fr. Peter Lourdes SDB, a student of the first batch, who commenced his studies in Don Bosco, Liluah in 1937.

Kolkata Practical Trainees meet in Siliguri

A two day meeting of all the practical trainees of the province of Kolkata was held at Nazareth Bhavan, Siliguri from November 18-20, 2011. It coincided with the tri-monthly recollection and the feast of Christ the King. The events took place in the green environment of Siliguri with a strong `Go Green` signal from Fr. John Bourk SJ.

Karbi Teachers Visit Don Bosco Kolkata

KOLKATA - A group of teachers from Karbi-Anglong district of Assam visited Don Bosco School Park Circus, 16 November as part of their on-going education programme. Besides interaction with the Principal Fr Siby Vadakel, the visitors also had an extensive tour of the school campus getting to know various academic pursuits on site - including the day school, night school, formal and non-formal technical training and skills training offered to the marginalized youth.

Children`s Day at DB Kolkata brings together 600 underpriveleged children

Over 600 children from 25 schools / NGOs celebrated Children`s Day, on November 13, 2011 at one of the premier educational institutions of Kolkata, Don Bosco School Park Circus. The students of DBPC classes 11 & 12 organized this annual mini fete for underprivileged children with chance games, competitions, snacks and prizes. The students themselves contributed the gifts.

DB Higher Eucation Meeting in Bangalore

Don Bosco Higher Education India (DBHEI) had its third biennial meeting at Maitreya, Bannergheta Road, Bangalore on 6-7 November, 2011. It was attended by 40 participants from 38 Don Bosco colleges and one University spread across the ten Salesian provinces of the country.

DBYA South Asia meet in Bangalore

The members of the Don Bosco Youth Animation Board of South Asia met at Don Bosco Provincial House, Bangalore from November 2-5, 2011. There were 15 Salesians from the various provinces of India and the Youth Ministry Department in Rome including Fr. Fabio Attard the General Councillor for Youth Ministry.

Don Bosco Parish Church at Kalimpong blessed and inaugurated

November 01, 2011 was an epoch making day for the Catholic Community of DBJOTI (Don Bosco Job Oriented Training Institute) Parish, Kalimpong. The long cherished dream was fulfilled in the event of the inauguration and blessing of the new parish church dedicated to St. John Bosco. With a participation of more than thirty priests and nearly one thousand faithful, this event was indeed unique!

FMA Kolkata Jubilarians give away Mission Month awards

The Kolkata Province Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) marked the Golden Jubilee of the religious profession of two Sisters with the Mission Month Award ceremony. The celebrations started off with a concelebrated Eucharist presided over by Coadjutor archbishop Thomas D`Souza of Kolkata along with 15 priests. Scores of religious Sisters and relatives of the jubilarian from neighbouring states participated in the celebrations held at provincial house chapel of FMA Sisters at Dum Dum, November 01, 2001.
