Youth in Fatorda rescue God from the dock...!!!

Youngsters from various Salesian youth groups of the Konkan-Panjim Province gathered at Don Bosco Fatorda on February 05, 2012 for the Youth Day. As the youth poured into the spacious environs of the Fatorda campus, they were marked with a stamp of Don Bosco and then invited to leave their hand prints on a beautiful collage that read ``I am for Jesus!`` a symbolic gesture of their commitment to Jesus Christ.

``Brothers` day`` celebrated at Don Bosco Panjim

Brothers Day was celebrated at Don Bosco Panjim, Goa on January 26, 2012. About 120 youngsters and children from the various Salesian institutions of the province participated in the event.

Don Bosco Boys`Home Tuem celebrates Provincial Community Day (INP)

The Salesians of the Province of Panjim-Konkan gathered around the provincial at Tuem, Goa as they celebrated the Province Community Day on January 18, 2012. ``Don Bosco the priest educator did not rest; he spent his entire life for the young giving them a reason to hope for and an experience of the joy of living,`` said the Provincial Fr. Ian Figiereido in the homely as he called on the Salesians to a deeper honest introspection of their apostolate and their profession to be good shepherds to the young.

Don Bosco Youth Centre, Shirva celebrates anticipated feast of Don Bosco

The extension of Don Bosco Youth Centre in Shirva (Udupi District), meant for needy boys was inaugurated on January 12, 2012 on the auspicious occasion of the anticipated feast of Don Bosco. The inauguration and blessing was done by the Salesian Provincial Fr. Ian Figueiredo in the presence of Fr. Baptist Menezes-Episcopal Vicar of Udupi, , Fr. Stany Tauro-Parish Priest and Vicar Forane of Shirva Deanery, and Fr. Valerian Pinto-former parish priest of Shirva, who was instrumental in beginning the Salesian presence in Shirva.

Batch 5 of DB Tech MoRD inaugurated at DBA Hubli

Inaugurating the fifth batch of job oriented courses under aegis of Don Bosco Tech and MoRD (Ministry of Rural Development) Director of Zilla Panchayat Adiveppa M Manami, called on the candidates to put their heart and soul into the training programme for a brighter future at Don Bosco Auditorium Sutgatti, Hubli on Wednesday. Work is worship is not just a popular saying but, a reality that is enshrined in the training programmes conducted by Don Bosco he said. It is a matter of great joy that more than 400 youth from rural BPL families have successfully completed the training and are now placed on jobs he added. He praised the Don Bosco for their service to the poor BPL rural youth and assured to his cooperation and support in executing further such programmes.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS AT DON BOSCO SUTGATTI

The birth of Christ heralds a new beginning and a new hope to those in darkness. His birth is nothing but a manifestation of God`s infinite love for all mankind said Fr. Leandro Gracias rector of Don Bosco Academy as he declared the Christmas celebrations open with the Boarders on the evening of 22 December. This was followed by a series of programmes at Don Bosco Sutgatti from 22nd to 25th December 2011. The main theme was making a new beginning and enkindling a new hope in the light of God`s unconditional love and hope for all mankind.

Young Christian Students, Shirva celebrate Annual Gathering

Y.C.S. ( Young Christian Students) Pilar, Shirva (a substation given to the Salesians for pastoral care), celebrated their annual gathering on November 27, 2011. ``Pilar Yuva Sanz 2011`` was a day of togetherness, fellowship and gaiety, with 700 participants.
