Youth from Salesian Parishes in Mumbai prepare for cultural trip to Poland

Thirteen Salesian youth from various Salesian Parishes and Movements in Mumbai are preparing for a ten-day Cultural Tour to Poland from May 20-30, 2012. As part of the preparation, a day`s animation program was conducted at the Auxilium Provincial House, Bandra on January 26, 2012. The program consisted on activities for Team Building, Salesian Youth Spirituality and a pilgrimage to Mount Mary`s, Bandra.

Mumbai Provincial House welcomes New Priests

The Provincial House Community gathered around its newly consecrated priests, on Monday, January 2, 2012, for a Solemn Eucharist. Fr. Wilfred D`Souza - Rector of the Provincial House introduced the young priests - Fr George D`Abreo, Fr. Pratap Damor, Fr. Rixon Nigrel - wishing them God`s abundant blessings on their ministry ahead.

Employment Generation for Hundred Million discussed at SKOCH SUMMIT (SNF)

Skoch development foundation is an autonomous policy oriented body, which works towards social, digital and financial inclusion. They organized their twenty seventh summit on November 29- 30, 2011 in New Delhi on Generating Employment. The summit had eminent speakers such as Mr. Kapil Sibal, Minister for Communications and IT; Kamal Nath, Minister, for Urban Development, K R Kamath, Chairman P&B Bank; R Chandrashekhar, Secretary, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. The need to generate hundred million jobs innovations to employment generation and the FDI policy in achievement this goal was discussed.

Salesian Youth Ministry Seminar at STI, Nashik

The Salesian Youth Ministry Seminar was organised on November 25 -28, 2011 by Fr. Ajoy and Fr. Glenn Lowe at the Salesian Training Institute, Nashik. The seminar began with a session which cleared the various prejudices about present day youth scenario. Thereafter the resource personnel explained the difference between youth work and youth ministry.

MABE Value Education Coordinators Seminar organised at Matunga, Mumbai

The Archdiocesan Value Education Centre (AVEC - Mumbai) was back in action after nearly four months with an Orientation Program for the Value Education Coordinators from the schools affiliated to the Mumbai Archdiocesan Board of Education (ABE). The Orientation was held in the Don Bosco Primary School, Matunga on November 17, 2011. Over one hundred and twenty Coordinators representing over ninety schools participated in the event.

Retreat rejuvenates DivyaDaan, Nashik

Divyadaan, Nashik participated in the annual spiritual retreat from October 25 - October 31, 2011. The preacher of the retreat, Rev. Fr. Lawrence D`souza, the Rector of Resurrection Church Virar, facilitated and helped the retreatants enter into self-reflection and develop a relationship with Jesus during these grace filled days.

Mumbai celebrates the commitment of its Jubilarians

``Media for a Culture of Peace - Creating Images with the New Generation`` witnesses Salesian participation

Catholic communicators from around Asia have been examining the role of media in promoting a culture of peace. Members of SIGNIS, the World Catholic Association for Communication, from twenty Asian countries and territories are taking part in the organization�s Asia Assembly 2011 on the theme `The Global Association Affiliates` Audiovisual, Broadcast, Electronic and New Media Professionals, as well as academics and others. SIGNIS Asia, SIGNIS and Nepal Communications Centre, the communications office of Nepal archdiocese, jointly organized the assembly seminar, which featured talks on ``Media for a Culture of Peace- Creating Images with the New Generation``. The seminar was held from Oct. 16-22 in Nepal at the Dulekhiel Logue Resort.

DivyaDaan Nashik participates in the 36th ACPI Meet at Kerala

The students of Masters in Philosophy together with three members of the staff of Divyadaan-Salesian Institute of Philosophy attended the 36th Annual Meeting of The Association of Christian Philosophers of India (ACPI) held at Good Shepherd Major Seminary, Kunnoth, Kerala from October 10 - October 13, 2011.
