Two from Chennai (INM) set UPS-Rome afire...!!

Two Indian Salesians from the Salesian Province of Chennai defended their theses for Licentiate in Theology at UPS-Rome on January 30, 2012. Frs. Cassius Correya and Don Bosco Augustine, successfully defended their theses in Ecclesiology and Christology respectively, bringing to fruition their two year stint at the Universita Pontificia Salesiana, Rome. Like sunrise and sunset, the two thesis presentations-one in the morning and the other at dusk- were cause for great cheer and jubilation of their respective guides and the unanimous appreciation of the public assembled.

Italian Missionary dies at 91, funeral in Bandel on 27 September

KOLKATA - A celebrated Italian missionary who served Bengal Missions died at the historic Marian shrine of Bandel where he was prior, parish priest and administrator for about 25 years. Salesian Fr Louis Gobetti (91 years) died at Bandel some 60 km north of Kolkata on 22 September. His funeral is scheduled to be held at Bandel Basilica at 1.30 pm on Tuesday, 27 September.
