First of all, there is the ironical fact that we human beings have to defend the rights of our children. This problem is unique to humankind, the most evolved part of the animal kingdom gifted with knowledge, freedom and love. Among animals there is no need for defending their young from the adults. What an irony that among human beings this has to be done.
